Age research, ART, and AMRC science communication awards

I rather liked this piece from today’s Press and Journal in Scotland about how the results of an IQ test taken by Aberdeen residents 60 years ago is helping medical research today.

It also gives me the opportunity to plug the forthcoming UK Age Research Forum (UKARF) conference taking place in London on 29th September 2010.  Details here.  I am chairing a parallel session in the afternoon on collaboration.  Please do join me.

It would be remiss of me to not let the week pass by without also mentioning and congratulating AMRC member, the Alzheimer’s Research Trust, who picked up a Charity Times award for their public awareness raising work on the need for dementia research.

We will be opening up our fourth Science Communication Awards for entries from member charities from this Monday and I shall post details then.  They will be on our website as usual where you can also find details of our Communications Workshop on 13th September.  There are still a few places left.
