UPDATE – The full text of Andrew Lansley’s speech can now be found on the Department of Health website. And some reaction from AMRC member, the British Heart Foundation, as reported in The Independent.
Without wishing to appear as though I have suddenly become Andrew Lansley’s publicist or that I am stalking him in some way, here is a report of his latest speech this morning to the Faculty of Public Health conference. The Health Service Journal is also running this piece with a bit more analysis. No mentions of Jamie Oliver or any other chef as far as I can tell.
Some more details are also emerging of what will be in the Health White Paper still expected before the summer recess I understand. Seems to be a quite interesting message implicit in the remarks by Dr James Kingland (Director of the National Association of Primary Care) today that patients will be involved at every level in the new system.
For some reason these speeches take days to appear on the Department of Health website so don’t go looking there yet.
